LG Announces Eco-Friendly LCD

LG claims to have the world’s most energy-efficient monitor with the unveiling of its Flatron W2252TE. The 22-inch widescreen LCD consumes 22W of power compared to the average 40W used by similarly sized monitors. Crave reports the monitor will initially land on UK’s shores.

The release will follow similar initiatives by the likes of Dell, which introduced an energy-efficient desktop last month that consumes 71 percent less than comparable mini-tower desktops. Dell’s bamboo-encased PC also has challengers.

iameco has made stylized designer wood-encased computers available and Fujitsu has shown off a laptop prototype that is manufactured from cedar and bio-plastics.
